Martin commenced his career as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte, before joining Priestley and Morris (Moore Stephens) as a Partner in the Business Advisory Group, where he introduced wealth management to the national practice in 1984.
He commenced his own practice in 1989, which was focused on the financial needs of the clients and their families from a “trusted advisor” perspective, delivering services that addressed the client’s financial journey.
His focus includes advice on technical issues,and is tailored to the specific needs of his clients and their families. This includes their businesses, where he often acts as a member of the advisory board to guide strategic direction and align their business performance to personal and lifestyle objectives. As a Chartered Accountant, he delivers services to family businesses and private clients, with particular interest in the next generation and succession.
Martin has expertise in a number of areas of wealth management, including superannuation strategies.
He recently attended The Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, as part of the Chief Executives Programme, which delivers management and leadership programs, in addition to continuing education in financial disciplines. This two year programme was specifically designed to complement the technical services delivered to the broad range of clients at different stages of their lives.
In 2012, Martin was awarded Financial Planner of the Year – Victoria/Tasmania from the Securitor Financial Group, following Practice of the Year in 2006.
On 1st July 2015, Martin and his team joined Crowe Horwath Accountants, where he is a Partner in the Business Advisory division, in addition to his role as Senior Financial Adviser with Centric Wealth – both part of the Findex Group. The key objective of joining the group is to continue to service clients and enhance the family office advisory offering, which has been the practice philosophy since inception.
Martin is married with three children, and his interests include music, golf, football and travel.
